Jørn Lier Horst (b. 1970)has worked as a policeman in
Larvik since 1995 and now holds a position as the head of investigations at the local police office. He debuted as a crime writer in 2004, and has published four novels featuring police officer William Wisting.

Horst is planning to develop a series of ten volumes, and at present film producers and foreign publishers are considering the first five Wisting novels.
